🌿 Microneedling Preparation Guide

Collagen PIN microneedling helps rejuvenate skin by stimulating collagen production. Here’s how to get the best results:

A Few Days Before

  • Avoid sunburns, tanning, and self-tanners.

  • Stop retinoids, glycolic acids, and exfoliating products for 3–5 days.

  • Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, or St. John’s Wort for 3–5 days, unless prescribed.

  • Reschedule if you have an active breakout, rash, or open wound in the treatment area.

On Treatment Day

  • Arrive with a clean face (no makeup, lotion, or sunscreen).

  • Stay well hydrated — drink water before your appointment.

  • Avoid applying heavy skincare or makeup the morning of your treatment.

Tip: Plan microneedling when you can have 1–3 days of mild redness/downtime before big events.

🌿 Microneedling Aftercare Guide

Microneedling jumpstarts collagen production for smoother, healthier skin. Proper aftercare helps maximize your results:

Right After Treatment

  • Skin may appear red, warm, or slightly swollen, like a mild sunburn — this is normal.

  • Use only gentle, soothing skincare recommended by your provider. See take home packet.

  • Do not touch your face for the 1st 24 hours, if needed do so with washed hands.

First 24–48 Hours

  • Avoid makeup, harsh cleansers, scrubs, or active skincare (retinol, acids, vitamin C).

  • Stay out of direct sun and tanning beds for at least 72 hours.. Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) after 24 hours.

  • Skip strenuous exercise until redness subsides. Avoid heat such as hot showers, saunas, hot tubs, and intense workouts for 48hours to minimize swelling and redness.

  • Keep skin hydrated and moisturized.  Use a gentle, hydrating moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated. Your practitioner may recommend specific products.

  • Limit Exfoliation- Avoid exfoliating products (such as scrubs, retinols, or acids) for at least a week after treatment.

 Healing Timeline

  • Redness usually improves within 24–48 hours.

  • Mild dryness or flaking can occur for several days.

  •  Results build gradually as collagen production increases, with noticeable improvements in 2–4-6 weeks.

1 week Post-Treatment

  • Hydration is Key- Continue using a gentle moisturizer and drink plenty of water to help with skin recovery.

  • Follow Up- If you experience  excessive redness, swelling, or unusual symptoms, please call or text.

Long-Term Care

  • Sun Protection- Always use sunscreen daily to protect your skin and maintain results.

  • SkinCare Products- You may resume your regular skincare routine after 5-7 days.  Consults your practitioner for specific recommendations.

✨ Tip: For best results, microneedling is often done in a series of treatments spaced a few weeks apart.
